Samuel Taylor

Chairman of Westhoughton Urban District Council: 1904-05 (Liberal)

Born: Bolton 1874

Died: Lytham St Annes, Lancashire 21 January 1938

Farmer and greengrocer.

Brother of John Henry Taylor, Chairman of Westhoughton UDC 1912-13.

Associated with Beech Hall Farm, Farnworth Close Farm, 250 Church Street and later Dearden's Farm.

Represented Hulton Ward 1898-1908. He was one of three candidates who were elected unopposed when Hulton Ward was created in September 1898.

Opened Westhoughton Town Hall on 4 December 1904.

Iin 1908 he moved away from the Westhoughton area to join the family business as a rope and twine manufacturer in Chorley.
