Died: 67 Lee Lane, Horwich 8 June 1946

Represented North Ward 1923-29.

Served as a Special Constable during the First World War and for the early part of the Second World War.

Honorary Member, Trustee and President of Horwich Conservative Club and awarded the Distinguished Service Certificate and Medal of the Association of Conservative Clubs.

First Chairman of Horwich Chamber of Trade.

A Captain of Horwich Golf Club.

Member of Squirrel, Ridgway and Bridge Private Bowling Clubs.

Freemason - Master of Ellesmere Lodge No 730, Chorley and of Horwich Royal Arch Chapter No 2342.

Trustee of Loyal Ridgmont Lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows

Anglican - he worshipped at Horwich Parish Church where he was a Sidesman and member of the Parochial Council.
