Born: St Helens, Lancashire 1923
He served in the RAF during the Second World War but transferred to the Army towards end of War.
Came to Bolton in 1977 to work at Horwich Loco Works, having worked in Railway Industry since 1936.
'Retired' at closure of Loco Works in 1983.
Chairman of the Environment & Consumer Sub Committee
His wife, Ida Johnson, was Mayoress and was Mayor of Blackrod 1984-85, 1994-95.
