Hilary Constance Fairclough

Mayor of Bolton: 2019-20 (Conservative)

Born: Bolton 1952

Educated: St Paul's CE Primary School, Astley Bridge; Smithills Secondary School; Bolton College

Born Hilary Constance Brown.

Trained as a hairdresser at Bolton College and worked in salons until birth of first child in 1974.

Later managed a family business before running Astley Bridge Post Office with husband Don.

Elected councillor for Astley Bridge ward 2000.

Deputy Leader of the Conservative group of Bolton Council from 23 August 2021.

Deputy Leader of Bolton Council from 25 August 2021.

Served on Health, Environment, Corporate, Culture and Licensing committees.

Chair of Environment Scrutiny.

Chair of Licensing committee.

Chair of the PTA at High Lawn School and a governor at Sharples school from 1986, including 6 years as chair.

Magistrate from 1994.

Her husband Don, was her Consort.
