Proprietor of Huyton Bleach Works, Adlington, later in partnership with his brother-in-law, James Eckersley as Davies & Eckersley.
County Magistrate.
He was a member the first Board of Governors of Rivington and Blackrod School in 1875.
Director of Williams Deacon's and Manchester and Salford Bank and was a well known figure on the Royal Exchange at Manchester.
Lived at Adlington Hall.
Died at home after catching a cold while out shooting.
